You can start wherever you want so long as you can rent a bike.
I’m going with Westport as there’ll be a bit to do there if it doesn’t work out.

I’d recommend this if you are anywhere near

Did it tonight serious feed. We’d to tip home for bed time but I got the impression you could be there all night if you wanted. Live music as well, which I thought was illegal. Friday night is Moroccan BBQ and Saturday American BBQ we are tempted to go again. The good weather made it though

I rented bikes up there off a crowd in Westport once, and they sold a pick up as part of the deal. Cycled up the way, bit of sightseeing, bit to eat, and a feed of pints. Gave them a call and they picked us up.

Ya pick ups are illegal now. That’s where the covid gets you

CURSE YOU COVID!!!

It’s very eco friendly this covid. Hates planes, loves bikes

You weren’t staying in Mt Falcon? I’ve friends going there soon, must send that on

No we are down the road. Anyone can go in

Will have to go back so. Followed the route I cycled over the pass out of Dingle last year. Could only see 20 yards in front of me that day so wanted to see what it really looked like.

That lake is class, its only a few hundred meters before that viewing point as you head towards Dingle.

Have only ever come over the pass from Dingle side.

its a few hundred meters after it so

I think I know where you’re talking about. A few random cars pulled in there but it didn’t look like much of a viewing point.

There’s a small waterfall there, you climb up the side of that and then you see the lake, it’s not visible from the road.

This went off reasonably okay. We cycled to Newport and back which is 11km each way. Took about two hours twenty all in including a stop for a cup of coffee in Newport.

As @backinatracksuit said it’s not a very interesting stretch of road so if I was going it again I wouldn’t bother with that bit. There’s nothing at all to do on the route, or even somewhere to pull for ten mins for a view or something. A lot of it is just beside the road as well. You wouldn’t feel in danger or anything it’s just a bit dull looking at a road.

The baby went into the trailer, right job. She wasn’t exactly happy, but not giving out either. Small wins.

No shuttle bus was a disaster, would have preferred to stay going on up the road and see how it went, get dinner somewhere when we were tired and shuttle back. When we knew we’d to get back under our steam you’d to be that bit cautious.

Legs held up well enough considering I haven’t cycled in yonks.
Arse is fairly tender though. Why do saddles have to be so uncomfortable?
It’s a fairly flat track, but you’d feel it dragging along the trailer in parts.
Good workout anyway. Sweat some of the holiday excesses off

Would do again, wouldn’t bother with Westport to Newport. Would make sure a shuttle was available.
