International Elections Thread

Have fascists seized power in Italy or was there an election?

A right cracker of a fascist is due to take power

I’ve never taken dole in me life, buddy.

It’s good that you’re getting help from social services because you clearly need it but I’m afraid that doesn’t count as volunteering. And it doesn’t seem to be working either.

And there’s nothing that can help you with your lack of two brain cells to rub together and your hard wired hatred for yourself and the rest of society.

Yeah, we know from history that fascists can never come to power through elections. Oh wait.

She can surpress me any time she wants so she can.

Well fair played to you… i cooked dinner for the family, played a game of ball, walked Brady, cleaned the kitchen and made my lunch for tomorrow ( 2 ham, cheese, coleslaw and sun-dried tomatoe sandwiches) and you’re still here engaged in mortal combat with the far right army.

Agree with that.

One point though, if you are rearing a Gay child it is a worrisome world they’re growing up into right now.

It is clear that there is a real anti gay agenda being used to drum up Family / Catholic virtues of support.

Where? In the US? The gay community in Europe probably havent had it this good since the Romans. Tho obviously, it’s still far from perfect.

You’ll have to give me some examples of where this is happening, it’s not on my radar currently what with only a 3 year old and a 11 month old…

Good man Thomas - will you make me one? Sounds fantastic!

There are elements worldwide making plays on getting back to Catholic virtues of families of Man & Woman etc.

Let’s hope our kids all grow healthy and into societies where their life choices are respected.

World is tough enough

The reality is TFK is made up of middle aged fathers looking for advice, who post pictures of the infrequent pints they may drink with the fork in the road been the ravenous thread for those who double down on the unhealthy lifestyle and some who seek to remediate taking to the running threads. This clown thinks its a fascist outpost of the internet, totally oblivious to the irony staring him in the face that he is the very embodiment of one. Everyone is far right when you are a far left nihilistic and bizarrely royal family loving puppet.

You and your fellow travellers here are far to the right of the Irish population. Time and time again you’ve proved yourselves grossly out of touch with the people of your own country. That’s what really irks you, it’s that you know full well my views are much more representative of the rest of the country than yours.

The likes of you have no positive vision at all for society. Your worldview is defined only by enemies who are enemies by virtue of being non-white, or urban, or gay, or trans. Basically anybody who’s not a terminally cranky, middle aged rural curmudgeon like you.

It’s a wholly reactionary, fear filled worldview. It’s about fear of others and “othering people”. Keeping people down. That’s what has drawn you into the American right wing Twitter warrior mindset. It’s absolutely hilarious that those who mistakenly think they’re most in touch with ordinary people are those most out of touch.

Hannah Arendt would have had a field day with youse lot.

That post reminds of a story my nephew told me was working in a rural pub around the time of the referendum for gay marriage. Old folks reminiscing of old Catholic Ireland along with talk of the referendum. One lad goes in total disgust “The way things are now for young lads, if you are not gay, they reckon there is something wrong with ya” :joy:

I would certainly believe the stigma well and truly remains for a certain cohort, but that is certainly not the case for younger generations in Ireland. I would have thought it has never being a better time to be a gay man. But then I don’t swing that way so I’m open to correction.

Lad you need to relax. I hope for your mental well being your a troll because you’re not well.

Ah Ireland is definitely a better more tolerant country than some others across mainland Europe.

My point was more in relation to clear Right leaning emerging Political parties/groups across the Europe & worldwide really

It’s yourself who needs to relax, buddy. Lashing out at views you don’t like with no argument to back you up is very narrow minded and reactionary.

I think a lot of people are looking for meaning in the modern world alright… With some returning to older values as a result. This is largely a consequence of the actions of far left nihilists trying to tear down every fabric of society to sooth their own rage. It’s why Europe is increasingly becoming more and more anti / stricter immigration also.

I’d imagine it’s better than ever it was, but far from completely free.
My colleague and great friend who I travelled to Malawi with is married and gay. He was removing his wedding ring in joberg before we transferred to Malawi. I asked him why he was taking it off. He replied that he usually did when travelling to many countries as people inevitably asked him about his wife, and it could and did cause discomfort or offence if he corrected them, and it was easier not to.
I think most folk are fine about it, but I still think heavy petting in public in Ireland and indeed most of the world is less carefree for a homosexual couple, albeit, french kissing in public is kind of impolite or uncouth these days anyway.
