Itās a total mess now, last week a 16 year old Arab ā Israeli was kidnapped and burnt alive in East Jeruaslem, at first the story was it was an honor killing as he is gay, now the cops said they have arrested 3 members of a right wing jewish organization, anyway, these incidents have sparked riots in Arab-Israeli towns in the last few days with a lot of āour murder is better than yours ā type carry on.
To make that worse Hamas have been firing rockets non stop at Israel in the last 2 weeks, last night there was a huge escalation with >100 rockets up to 60km into Israeli territory, we had 2 warnings last night but its nothing compared to places like Beāer Shaba and Ashkelon that are under attack every few minutesā¦ The IDF launched an offensive in Gaza this morning cue more rocketsā¦

missile defense system has about and 80% success rate of taking them down and also every rocket that that escapes the air raid alarm goes off so you leg it to the safe room in your house or the the stairwell, every house is required by law to have a fortified safe room

There is a continual tension, be it between jews and arabs in Israel itself that is day by day, then you have the issues like this when the Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza kick off, you have the huge divide and discrimination between Ashenazim and Sphardim/ Mizrakim jews, you have the massive tension between ordinary secular, working , tax paying Israelis ( which i suppose i almost fall into) and the utter hatred for the Haredim ( orthodox) and the settler movement who are despised in general society mainly as they donāt work, pay no tax and generally cause troubleā¦ the place is chaos usually but now its very bad.
