Ireland captain Rory Best refuses to comment on attending team-mates' trial

With you maybe, my views carry considerable weight with others so ciao

@artfoley handing out a serious clamping here to Chelsea F.C. paedophile/rapist apologist @Little_Lord_Fauntleroy.

I support West Ham mate

You supported and commended Chelsea F.C. actions in trying to cover up for their rapist/paedophile employee and the attempts to buy the silence of victim Gary Johnson without accepting culpability.

I now distance myself from Chelsea

Do you do the same with the IRFU

The reach of Ulster rugby knows no end

Whose senior counsel? Can senior counsel compel a member of the public to sit in the public gallery?

This story is changing on a daily basis

And more importantly, why the fuck would he?

Maybe looking for an autograph?

The IRFU look to be calling in all favours for this one. I assume the alleged victim is not a RC.

Calling @Tim_Riggins

Was Best telling porkies on Saturday about the reason he went to the trial? Is it at odds with what the judge said?

Is he now part of the defense strategy ?

In what respect?

He said he went there to hear her story. Was he lying?

My reading of this is that Jacksonā€™s brief asked Best to attend, presumably to benefit Jacksonā€™s case. Best accepted and he shouldnā€™t have. Very bad form.

Directed is only lawyer speak for ā€˜askingā€™ I believe.

I donā€™t know what youā€™re on about.

Thatā€™s what Iā€™m reading into it too

He is behaving disgustingly.

I need clarification from @Tim_Riggins though

A character reference only comes into play on the basis of a conviction.

Therefore this spin about Best ā€œneeding to see both sidesā€ (you canā€™t see both sides in one day of a five week trial) or needing to be in court at all is nonsense.

He went on behalf of the defense is how Iā€™m reading it

@Tim_Riggins can confirm
