Ireland politics (Part 2)

Ireland.

Could you fit much Semtex in a ballot box?

More strategic to place it on inis mean

There’s a good argument for keeping the drunken groping soldiers out of populated areas. Military discipline has slipped a lot since my day.

Jaysus, when Athlone was a barracks town it was rough enough.

Garrison towns they used be known as. Longford is the new Beirut.

Ciara Phelan is a great journalist

Egghead should go on Joe Rogan. Battle of the baldys

I listened back to ROD on that show and he’s challenging the figures in the examples that were given.

For an external wall insulation, air tightness, windows and heat pump and heating system for a 1975 194 sq/m building.

They have said that the total cost for the retrofit is 50k, the max grant available is 23.5k with a net cost of 26.5k. You’ll save 1k a year post retrofit.

The figures were compiled in October of last year.

There’s been 4 increases since October so the same retrofit will now cost you 60k. The grant is still capped at 23.5k.

By the time this scheme comes into play, the same retrofit will be around 70k due to the increase in costs. Insulation and silicone is all going up.

So will take 40 years to recoup the costs fook that

If you believe Rod who had no expertise on the field, is a populist and whose only aim is to be a TD for as long as possible

So for argument sake you go off and borrow 25k over ten years and somehow manage get an interest free loan. So you end up paying €2.5k a year to save 1k.
