This fella is a political giant alright
Heâs iconic.
Michael Lowry - Hall of Famer
Mattie McGrath - Iconic
Alan Kelly - Giant
Martin Browne - Giant
Jackie Cahill - Something Else
There was talks in the paper that SF want to replace âaccidentalâ TDs like Browne and Wynne with more polished candidates at the next election.
67-32 a good republican trouser size
Martin looks like he could polish off a fair bit of grub.
In what manner?. Iâve rarely seen him speak impressively but ive seen him come out with outright lies in the DĂ il.
No stranger to a frying pan id say
You left out the carvery/restaurant piece.
BumpâŚ
Another two in a row in tatters
If Labour are to have any hope of regrouping, an alliance with the Soc Dems may give them a platform. Theyâll need to stave off the woke wing though, so plumping for someone like O RiordĂĄin as leader would be disastrous.
Duncan Smith has been a impressive performer in the DĂĄĂl and on committees since his election and may well be the man to take the reins.
Labour will be grand when SF go in to government ( assuming they donât go in with them)
Not a hope. Big Dunc sided with Kelly. If the other side have managed to oust Kelly it wont be Duncan.
Shortall and Murphy wouldnt regroup with Labour i wouldnt think. Sure them not being Labour is one of the Soc Dems biggest selling point.
Doesnât leave much then. Ged Nash?
Hard to see an SF led government having the numbers without Labour though.
Labour have never recovered from the damage Gilmore and Burton presided over.
Cutting the blind person allowance and many other payments to disabled/vulnerable people - even when the country didnât have a pot to piss in - went against pretty much every principle Labour stood for.
What did for Labour was their promise in 2011 to be a mudguard against FG cuts .
But what will Labour have? They are an irrelevance.
I still canât see a govt being formed without 2 of SF/FF/FG in together. Most likely scenario is FF go in with SF as junior partners next time around.
