Ireland politics (Part 2)

Roughly the same, sure Howlin was leader at the last GE and that was just a few weeks before the first lock down. Didn’t get much of a chance in fairness.

Kelly went up massively in my estimation the time he didnt wear the mask on the Luas because he was watching Man United on his phone.

The reason seems to be this one would think.

Had a drink with Marc McSharry and his brother tonight. Worked with his Dad over 20 years ago after he left politics.

Ray was intelligent and cute as a fox. Marc was pissed.

Very strange….

“ The man, whose identity is known but cannot be published for legal reasons, was convicted of the sexual assault in 2010 and received a prison sentence. He unsuccessfully appealed the conviction but had the entirety of his prison sentence suspended “

You’re gone mad on the sauce. Was Marc on the chatting dust?

Thought he was just pissed but could well have been.

I’m out trying to keep the 3rd cunt from leaving his employment. Kept 2 out of 3 which ain’t bad.

This is worse than 2007. Recruitment consultants must have 1,000’s of jobs and no cv’s.

The same guy was lad who gave movies their rating for a time in Ireland. As in is it PG or over 18s etc.

Long standing Labour soldier and prominent businessman in town gave me the lowdown on this years ago. Yer man is a creep

I always find these sort of press conferences held when a leader steps down amusing; the soon to be ex leader talking guff while those around him try to present themselves as a picture of solemnity even though inside they are delighted to be rid of the cunt.

Wexford town has been a traditional Labour stronghold. Working class, strong union presence, former party leaders in Brendan Corish and Howlin himself. He has a parliamentary assistant/gofer called George Lawlor who’s a councillor in Wexford town and they rotate the mayorship with FF in a long running pact. Lawlor is constantly in the local press, pointing at potholes and taking credit for absolutely everything and anything. They market themselves well. Even when they were decimated after being in government with FG a while back, Howlin’s vote held up locally as he delivered (or at least took the credit for) some big ticket items such as the new Garda station, complete renovation/extension of Wexford CBS and a brand new girls’ secondary school too.

Sinn Féin topped the poll last time with an Enniscorthy based chap who’s probably one of those accidental TDs. They’ve a young councillor in Wexford town called Tom Forde who’s probably going to run the next time and he’s constantly jousting with Lawlor. Lawlor himself is around 50 and probably has a pain in his hole waiting for Howlin to retire. He came second in the by-election in late 2019 when Mick Wallace fucked off to Europe but didn’t run in the election that followed in February 2020 so as not to split Howlin’s vote. It’ll be interesting to see what way things pan out next time around.

Its some cod. All yesterday evening politicians and commentators paying po faced tributes to kelly while knowing this story was about to break.

WTAF???

He may have served all the time he was going to serve anyway by the time the appeal was heard. That is not all that unusual.

Ivana Bacik wouldn’t fill me with confidence as the leader to restore Labour’s fortunes.

Maybe she will be the bridge to a SD merger
