They could call themselves the Social Democratic and Labour Party, or SDLP for short. Egghead might even come back as Co-Deputy Leader.

Im on record here as saying it. DBS are a fickle shower. A defeat fir her in a GE could well be the end of labour.
No, because bacik isnt their party leader and 2. Their parties havent been in power
Neither Duncan Smith nor Ivana Bacik were TDs the last time Labour were in âpowerâ
Tom is on Late Debate now. Sounds like he had zero expectation of being elected and might not be sure what to do with himself. Seems a decent fella anyway.

Bacik was in the parliamentary party at the time. The point being that labour have been in power enacting their policies in recent memory , the others havent
artfoley: iron_mike: the_man_himself:Could you not say the same about Mary Lou or RBB?
You ve missed the point completely there kid. Bacik is not remotely interested in leading labour down its traditional route. Sinn Fein have all but taken that vote. Shes more interested in populist politics which is a huge gamble for labour and a wager I suspect may well backfire
Shell be lucky to retain her seat in a GE

The end of labour will be traced to the moment that she defenestrated kelly
Did you say she was running as an independent? Will that affect her standing within the party? Should she not be thrown out?
The university candidates run as independents usually as far as I know. But she defied the party to run in the Seanad election last year when there was one of those government agreements in place.
I think itâs fairly inevitable sheâll leave in the near future. Sheâs doesnât feel supported by the party and most of the party feels she doesnât obey the rules. But she has allies so could be messy
He could be âSenior Vice President for the East. coastâ
Maybe AK could set up a new party, New Labour?

Tipp is the constituency of independents. If he aligns himself with Mattie and Lowry, heâll do ok.

Hazel appears to have that very ireland politician affliction of feeling entitled to a seat in the oireacteas.
Doesnt go down well with electorate. She could be the new generations bacik
They could set up TIPP - Tipperary Independents Parliamentary Party
The sophisticated electorate in Dublin Bay South are a bellwether for the national mood. The Bacik bounce will reinvigorate the party nationally.
Paul Murphy @paulmurphy_TD
Thats some clamping
The Bacik Bounce is real
MOE is +/- 3% so labour could just as easily be on 1%
Aontu are closing in on the Labour party. Good to see.
SF will never get into power. FFG will block them indefinitely.

in 20 years time FFGLAB will be lucky to have 30% of seats between them
