Thats a statement. What is the plan? Details targetâs, methods to achieve this and handling the consequences of the actions. Cutting national herd great, do we have enough food? How do we replace that shortfall? How do we replace the shortfall in exports? How do we support the farming communities that will lose income? Is there new technologies/methods that can reduce carbon without reducing input?

Thatâs a nonsense response. Eamon Ryan isnât the minister for agriculture. The minister for agriculture will come up with the plan for the sector. There is already a detailed report on various measures and how much they can reduce carbon by.

we import 5m tonnes of animal feed and export 470,000 tonnes of beef. Its a crazy practice. Its bad for the planet & as far as i can see, the average farmer is always giving out shit about how tough they have it - Yet you all want the status quo

Bio-Gas, while not perfect, would seem to be a great way forward for Ireland given our lack of natural gas and the abundance of animal shit.
Rewild the marginal farm land then. These fellas that leave their sheep off on the mountains. Give em a few bob and tell them to fuck off. Make the Wicklow mountains, mountains back in Dingle etc national parks with proper trees not those cunting pines.
Instead of exporting our recycling to other countries where they just fuck it in landfill anyway, commit real money to say Donegal or somewhere on the coast to build an absolutely state of the art recycling centre to handle all waste in the country and even import waste from other countries. Make recycling a source of raw materials for the state. Anything that canât be recycled can be burnt then.
I think all three of those are realistic policies that wouldnât discomode too many people and would move the needle.
Plus insulate the fuck out of the countries houses as they have started to do, but it needs to be a way faster
