Ireland politics (Part 2)

On the scale Iā€™m talking youā€™d be looking at hundreds if not thousands of jobs, Iā€™d imagine not only would there be no objections, but rather there would be political lobbying of the highest order to try and get it IMBY ala the building of Shannon airport.
I picked Donegal as it is one of least economically advantaged counties in Ireland and it would need to have a port. You could of course put it in West Limerick and Iā€™m sure we would gladly take the employment, fuck it in beside the red dust, but it would be slightly unfair what with Limerick being the second richest county after Dublin. Anywhere in green on the coast will do fine. Build it over Kilrush might kill two birds with one stone.

The Danes, touted as World leaders on climate burn half of all their rubbish. As do the Swedes.

We could build something like this, @croppy_boy could have a fucking ski slope and all lads. Think big.

I wonā€™t rest until Croppy boy can use his lidl bought ski equipment year round

Iā€™d be happy if we cut taxes.

If my goal in life was cheap alcohol, cheap fuel and sunshine with no kids then maybe Iā€™d consider moving there. As it happens I infrequently drive, rarely drink and I can take or leave the sun. Most importantly I would be condemning my young daughter (cc @Malarkey) to the long term unemployment market that Spain offers the youth if I moved there.

Would your daughter be exempt from leaving the country or something? Surely youā€™d send her to college in Ireland anyway for her future career in pharma or IT?

Burgers, mince etc. The age profile of dairy cows hitting the meat factory has dropped considerably in the last 10 years. Often hitting retirement at 7 or 8 now as opposed to 13 or 15 before that.

If I moved there she would end up going to Ireland for second level (boarding) and either Ireland or the US for college. I admit to not knowing much about the Spanish education system so would stick with what I would know.

Not good options in my view.

I wish her all the best.

I could use a spare ski slope.

Cheers bro
