Funny how the West Limerick poster did not put forward West Limerick as a potential hub for this. Would probably be more accessible as Donegal for a recycling hub

On the scale I’m talking you’d be looking at hundreds if not thousands of jobs, I’d imagine not only would there be no objections, but rather there would be political lobbying of the highest order to try and get it IMBY ala the building of Shannon airport.
I picked Donegal as it is one of least economically advantaged counties in Ireland and it would need to have a port. You could of course put it in West Limerick and I’m sure we would gladly take the employment, fuck it in beside the red dust, but it would be slightly unfair what with Limerick being the second richest county after Dublin. Anywhere in green on the coast will do fine. Build it over Kilrush might kill two birds with one stone.

The demands of Irish factories and their grading of cattle drives insane amount of Meal based diets for finishing cattle.

Grading of cattle and an actual premium on grass finished cattle would make a huge difference imo.

Wind needs a baseload to sustain curtailment. A wide energy mix is also needed. Not everything can be recycled or composted. What can be recycled should but again you have no answer to what should we do with that waste.

Also how effective is recycling at the moment? Are aluminium cans being recycled or piled into landfill?

The Army are probably well entitled to a few increases. Maybe they could move on to building a few houses once they are finished in the airport. But it’s funny how the magic money tree can be turned on when FG/FF need it
