I don’t think it’s specifically on the curriculum yet. It falls under the banner of diversity and teaching about diversity and the existence of different types of people. But the “controversy” relates to the intention to make children aware of the existence of transgender people as opposed to a specific instruction I believe.
Though in general the curriculum supports a general approach based on inclusion and has done for some time.

Saying that “Tommy Robinson speaks the truth” seems to be part of the Aontu agenda now.
Forgive me if I think anybody with links to Aontu is not a safe person to be giving advice on what should be taught in any schools.

If it’s just teaching children that there is such a thing as transgender people it’s very hard to believe a massive majority wouldnt believe that was acceptable. I find it hard to get my head around the whole thing to be honest but I’d imagine teaching kids there are some people who believe that’s what they are is fair enough. What science are peadar and the lads on about? Putting some fellas flute on top of a Bunsen burner and seeing can we transform it into a vagina maybe.

One thing you definitely can’t say about the Catholic Church is that they didn’t provide sex education in schools.

This one is a fairly vocal school principal on twitter. Id say that’s how most would feel about it.
John McGuirk thinks the opposite though and feels there would be strong public support against it.
Again I suppose the devil is in the detail of what is going to be taught to kids and how much emphasis is put on it.
