Ireland politics (Part 2)

great to hear that we will be in a position where we need more tax as we will have reduced the tax receipts from fossil fuels

, would love to see a charge for cagers for every time they drive a car

It’s all about the tax. It’s will be great the day that peoples dependancy on fossil fuels for basic heat and cooking is gone. But there seems to be no relief on taxes. We’ll need a new Green party to dream these revenues up.

It’s there €60 approx out of €100 fuel goes into the quagmire of taxes.

they are saying there will be a tax shortfall as people wont be paying excise on fossil fuels so they will need to find an alternative way to pay for Roads etc. I would be in a favour of a user pay tax to make up the shortfall for roads (1.4bn).

We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.

or we will prepare for it now & come up with a solution.- waiting for it to be here isnt a good approach

20% of cars sold are electric this year, we need to come up with a solution now - obviously usage & weight of cars are the the fairest tax

you missed the pun mate

Well given that electric yokes are far heavier than proper vehicles and are now proven to cause more damage to the road network it’s only fair to tax them more.

yes mate, glad you are onboard with the green agenda
