Yeah that was a fine effort tonight but it’s not unusual for us to dig in & put it up to a more talented team. The narrative has been set now by the RTE commentary & punditry teams & it’s almost giddy delight. Good performance but they’re totally overstating it. It isn’t necessarily a portent of things to come, as the game scenarios are totally different.

Unfortunately we have a genre of losing 1-0 to France (H) now. 2005, 2009 and 2023.
