They could have given us a bit more than 1 min of highlights, of the only other game in our group, which was between the two teams in the group who will be our main competition.
They didnât even show the build up to most of the goals. It sounded like a cracker and all.
Delighted to be in attendance for that. First game Iâve been at since Traps tenure ended. Fine performance full of composure and honest effort. Onwards and upwards
Despite a number of players like Clarke, OâDowda, Long et al being unavailable and half a dozen training sessions that was a very heartening performance.
Brady was about the only player whoâs performance I was disappointed in. Stevens grew more and more as the game progressed. I dont remember two Ireland centre halves having the ball that much at their feet without constantly looking to launch it route one as the first option. We pressed well and had a good shape. Hendrick was busy throughout while Mcgoldrick and Hourihane added serious composure and had fine games.
A marked difference in how Mcgolddrick played the lone striker role compared to Shane Long, his ability to hold it up and bring others into play made a huge difference.
Very good display tonight. McGoldrick was outstanding. Hourihaneâs dead ball delivery is a great asset. Much better from Coleman and thought Whelan was excellent on his return too. Hendrick was impressive in the first half and I thought Stevens came onto a game as it progressed. Good, purposeful stuff with a high tempo and committed players. Exactly what youâd expect from a Big Mick McCarthy team.
Mate, youâre really regressing as a poster. Some of your more recent content has been very poor. Pretty awful attention seeking type stuff, trying to be edgy, but laughably so.
Perhaps itâs time to take some time out and reflect on your motivation, brand and execution.
By god ⌠thatâs a real whooper of a post there. Dont try and brow beat me into behaving how you want just because you dont get my posts. Up your game son.
He was brilliant against the US as far back as 2014. That was a great night in the famous old stadium and it was a great boost after the reversal in Glasgow a few days earlier. Robbie Brady came of age that night and it gave us the impetus to turn that group around and qualify for the Euros.
