I wasn’t too far off that behavior, just in a fancier burrough. I lasted 8 months. Worked for Benny and cashed checks in the setter. A second class citizen’s way to go through life.

I had the misfortune to work for all the Reid’s at one time or another

When you’re on business travel in the US a good Irish bar can be a great escape away from the over exuberant yank co-workers. Similarly when I’m stuck in places like Zurich where the bar choices are completely devoid of any type of life or character the only option for any kind of normality is usually an Irish bar.

As I suspected a lot of support my opinion. There’s a few superb Irish pubs abroad. There’s a great thread on London pubs too on here but I can’t find it anymore.

Anybody else drink in the clock tavern and croke park in southie?

You’d want your widths about you.

You’d really want your wits with you to stroll between the width of that doorway.

Notwidthstanding it’s breadth.

@Tassotti did you ever drink in Donnellys of Bermondsey?

That’s your neck of the woods right?

The only Donnellys I know is a restaurant, on Bermondsey street, which isn’t really Bermondsey as such
I avoid Irish pubs in general, awful places
