Irish Soccer Players Abroad

Not living the life. 8 goals for Hull last season so Sunderland think he is worth a punt.

Doesnā€™t seem to settle anywhere for too long.
Is he hard to handle or something?

The rumours are that he got involved in some very risky ā€œbusiness venturesā€ when he rose to prominence and his move to Italy was partly to escape that. I dunno if heā€™s copped on since but Iā€™d assume some sinister forces lost interest in him.

A poor manā€™s David Connolly

Youā€™d have to be delighted for the Kennyā€™s Kids account on Twitter. This is like a wayward son coming home with a big Chinese.

Jason Knight is a very good player.

Do you think? Has not impressed me for Ireland recently.

How is he getting on with Sunderland now?

He plays positive passes, he drives forward with the ball, he has loads of energy, I really like him.

His counter-pressing and work rate are excellent.

Heā€™s not a tempo-setter, a technically-brilliant first-touch passer but he doesnā€™t always take the safe option which I really like. I think heā€™s probably been the most-underrated player in the Ireland team during Kennyā€™s reign; for me, he has to be a nailed-on starter.

He made his debut off the bench yesterday.

Had scored a few goals for the U-21s, obviously he didnā€™t have a pre-season so is probably a bit behind fitness-wise.

Didnā€™t get much of a chance to impress yesterday, ran around a bit but they were defending a 1-0 lead at that point so there was a bit of defensive work to do.

11 touches he had v Greece. I know we were under the cosh but very poor.

The whole midfield is much the muchness. All very average

Heā€™s starting to get rave Reviews. The mother is from newry and the dad Dundalk.

Was living in Dublin till he was 5 or 6 before moving
To Manchester.

So not sure what will happen. Think his older brother was playing with the Ireland 19s.

Paul mcshane seems to have a clutch of young lads in La Carrington eligible for the Irish team.

I guess thereā€™s just such a huge crossover between man united and Ireland.

Jacob Devaney another one who trains with the man united senior team.

Both these lads are midfielders as well.
