No, it’s not an ad hominem attack. It’s the exact sort of thing David Quinn writes in his columns in national newspapers, and the exact sort of thing David Quinn says in his regular television appearances - that’s the same David Quinn who’s “silenced” by the media.
And anyway, given that he has very similar views to you, I find it difficult to see why you’d feel so threatened by me noting the similarities in your respective positions.
You’re using his name to try and belittle as he is a calling card for the loony left.
Similar views in what respect? I’m pro gay marraige as I think if the state are going to get involved in marraige as they do in Ireland, then they shouldn’t stop it.
Other issues which I’ve seen David talk about include the gender pay gap. The gender pay gap is a total nonsense.

Hats off to @anon7035031 who, for a man that drinks as much whiskey as he does, has made consistently coherent additions to this thread since it took off yesterday morning.
@Sidney, you seem to be convinced that your beliefs are the only correct ones at play here, and are much more important than anyone else’s. Personally, I’d find it very frustrating to spend too much time ‘debating’ with you, as it is quite a draining experience. In most professions, the focus is on progress and delivering results, rather than spending hours upon end poring over minutiae in the hope of not being shown as wrong - the crippling inability to admit defeat, or that somebody else might have a point.

Also, I wouldn’t always see eye-to-eye with @HBV, but his post about “playing pin the tail on the donkey” and the line about “kevs bird with the peg leg went on to qualify as a fitness instructer, inspirational stuff” made me crack up. There’s merit in taking a step back every so often and leaving room to laugh.

Garrett Fitzgerald was the last social liberal in Fine Gael, and he has been gone a while.
Sidney & Co. don’t like the ideas that like that what the media & their fellow SJWs have told them is challenged. Therefore they look to flag posts like yours and launch ad hominem attacks. Maybe it’s because the idea that you but forward to them has given them a bout of cognitive dissonance.

“Extreme liberal” would appear to be an oxymoron. Unless you’re talking about an extreme libertarian? Then you give some odd isolated example that doesn’t seem to have any relevance to anything. You seem to be labouring under some sort of misapprehension that just because you have an opinion other people should be required to respect it.
