No one is saying Fulham can compete financially with Barcelona. What I am saying is that Chelsea of 2004 were spending more than both Barcelona and Real Madrid. Your point that they couldn’t compete was incorrect. Also PSG are the modern day equivalent of Chelsea 2004, inflating the transfer market with oil money. You mentioned that PSG could compete with Barelona and Madrid therefore impying that Chlesea could also. You’re contradicting yourself again.
This isn’t chess,you know that?
So are you talking about competing financially as Fulham are currently doing with Barcelona or are you talking about competing for the signature of the same players? There is a long track record of players rejecting the top English teams for a move to the top 2 in Spain. If the big two Spanish sides really want a player then he’s not going to England. You seem to have a problem grasping that.
You say PSG can compete with both but that Chelsea couldn’t. It’s a strange stance to take considering that both have little tradition and are funded by oil money. It just doesn’t add up that one can compete and the other can’t.
Why is it strange?
PSG and Chelsea play in different cities, different countries, different leagues.
Checkmate.
Well Paris does trump London if you’re a Jihadi but we’re talking about financial clout here. There is nothing different to Chelsea of '04 and PSG of today. Both use oil money to inlfate the transfer market. You say one can compete with the big 2 in Spain but not the other. You’ve contradicted yourself.
when was the last time one of the true football great were bought by an epl team?
Virgil VanDijk

You claim Alvaro Morata as a great. Is that the correct answer?
Southampton brought him to England when he was far from a world great. Ageuro is the last top drawer player to leave Spain for England
I didn’t realise they had to be brought in from abroad, Costa was a huge signing when he came in
I’m unsure of the parameters here, can you confirm them @Little_Lord_Fauntleroy
Fair enough point on Costa actually
he came from Celtic after the disaster of Legia
nope, most Celtic fans were glad to get rid of him
one of the worlds top 3 players been bought by an epl team
So it’s financial clout you’re talking about.
Fulham spent more than Barcelona this summer.
Checkmate.
That’s a tough one, the best player in the world has never been sold, the next best was 10 years at Madrid and is now past it,
VVD is currently the best defender in the world.
I happen to agree on the whole and said so recently, the big two in Spain are almost impossible to keep batting away
VvD would not even make the top 5 defenders in Serie A.
Rudiger is the best defender in the EPL.
Neymar Ronaldo and probably messi are the 3 best
none of them have moved to an EPL team
Virgil isn’t the best defender in the world, the same as de gea isn’t the best keeper in the world
