John Delaney/ tugging off half the forum

What an achievement by our ladies’ U19 team in the Euros. Female football popularity and participation rates and on pitch achievements have all increased hugely thanks to the initiatives implemented by John Delaney.
- Merge the National League and the FAI;

 • Ensure we obtain sufficient levels of sponsorship to complement the FAI’s own ongoing impressive investment in grassroots and schoolboy football;
 • Negotiate a TV rights deal which will benefit football in Ireland for generations to come;
 • Focus on developing the women’s game, including the setting up of a national league;
 • Secure the future of one of the greatest managers in the history of the game;
 • Build a new stadium to host international matches and FAI Cup Finals without putting the future of the association at risk;

Oh shit. Forgot he’s done all that already.
Mr Delaney may very well deliver us 4 games in Euro 2020 tomorrow. It would represent an incredible victory were he to pull it off. Ireland playing at home in a major tournament finals.

So 19 cities are to be picked? Presumably that means a likely scenario of where say Ireland qualify and are playing in Germany while the group games are going on at home? Its a strange enough idea.

No

Cheers I see its 12. My objection still stands though.

I understand that there’s a tentative plan to give selected host venues 1, if not 2, home games if they qualify themselves.

Say Germany, ourselves and Turkey qualify and are drawn in the same group and are all host cities. Are they going to drag us to all them places? Madness*.

*Be great craic actually.
