Why should he not be earning more? Its not the role of a footballing association to bankroll its clubs, it is to govern them.

I still don’t understand your point. The LOI isn’t very good so you’re better off giving that money to the CEO rather than trying to use it to improve the LOI?

How many LOI clubs have gone bust under John Delaney’s governance then if we’re playing that game?

It’s not the role of a football association to bankroll clubs. Which part of that do you not get?

That’s not the role of the football association.

You’ve said its their job to govern the clubs?

The micks are dazzled by 300k.

Delaney never governed the clubs that went bust . That was done by the directors and in one club by the fans who voted to sell the Crown Jewels against the board’s advice . Many clubs mortgaged their clubs finances to a property Ponzi scheme

I was reliably informed that its the FAI’s job to govern the clubs

100k prize money for a domestic league is an insult ffs, especially when the CEO awards himself multiples of that figure. A helpful comparison introduced by @Cicero_Dandi was Belarus.

It became so after the crash . The LOI has a similar economic history to the state this century . The following clubs all won leagues in the Celtic Tiger years - Shelbourne , Bohemians , cork City , Drogheda , Do you get my drift ?

Yes. Not to run them.

Why is it an insult? Clubs have pitiful attendances and fail to generate revenue themselves.

If it was just one club, that would be a fair enough excuse. With the amount of clubs that have gone bust in JD’s tenure there was/is clearly something wrong with the governance from the FAI

It’s got nothing to do with the FAI and all down to the poor internal management of clubs. Many clubs have actively praised the work of Dela in keeping them afloat which once again typifies where he goes above and beyond.

What exactly do you mean when you say its the FAI’s job to govern the clubs then?

You aren’t making much of a point here.

How many other people would have had the balls to go and get that money?

They govern the competitions in which the clubs take part in.

Well thanks to your introduction of the Belarusian approach the insult is clearly seen in the ratios already provided but for ease of reference here they are again.

1 : 0.3 in Belarus whereas in Ireland it’s 1:3. Quite the disparity.
