Itās disgusting the way the media have it in for him on the basis of nothing, they are blowing every small bit of news on him out of proportion, when he bags Ā£5m for his association, they go for him, when he forks out ā¬100k out of his own pocket to help the association out of cash flow problems, they go for him. Why are these even issues to the talenetless hacks in the Irish sports media?

Ewan is alluding to there being more to it. Not a resigning matter as is but then he hasnāt really resigned, has he? Heās just kept all the nice parts of the job and gotten rid of the shitty domestic bits.
The marital bit doesnāt really make sense. Why would he be so precious about 100k. Unless there were loads of 100ks being dished out. And heād have been clever enough not to use the FAI as a haven.
Benis OāDrien left them in a bit of a hole in fairness.
Iād say Dela had this moved planned anyway so he could get more involved with the UEFA gig, just brought it forward. Heāll probably take a pay cut and keep the UEFA money he was giving back and end up better off.

Stupidest shite the Mejia ever came out with was when Delaney had cleverly not signed a contract with Martin OāNeill. Real street smarts and foresight by JD, great business. The mejia got wind of it, blew it into a scandal forced Delaney to sign a contract and cost Irish football a small fortune in no time. No apologies were ever given by those journalists, no acknowledgment of the balls they had made or JDās business genius, just sweep-sweep.
