Itās hardly surprising that you donāt find him interesting, for the same reason I donāt find him that interesting. Heās a psychologist who appeals to young males who are a bit lost and need direction in their lives. Unless you meet that profile, heās truly not that interesting.

I find the whole evolutionary psychology fascinating. Very empowering to know that the human being is restricted in its thinking by natural selection.

Evolutionary psychology is highly speculative, a theory in search of evidence. Itās about as scientifically valid in terms of methodology as religion. Human beings are by no means restricted in their thinking by natural selection, if they were you wouldnāt have had the enormous leaps of knowledge in science we have had over the past few centuries. There is no evolutionary advantage to discovering relativity, the size of the universe, black holes, etc.
The basic human brain obviously developed through natural selection, as did all biological entities. How the human brain develops throughout life, and in particular how the mind emerges, is highly speculative.

Nobody is trying to suggest that natural selection holds all the answers in relation to how all humans think. Evolution is a fact however, not like a religion, so we know that there is some element of this impacting on the human brain. There is something else going on in the brain as well in relation to most people which is a moral tone and this does not initially seem compatible with natural selection, but it is a very complex area.
In relation to human advancements why wouldnāt there be advantages to understanding how our world works in relation to natural selection? Perhaps even a mate would be attracted to someone with such an intellect?

I didnāt say evolution was like a religion. Evolution is a fact and a scientific theory, with a massive amount of evidence to back it up. Evolutionary Psychology, like a lot of psychology, is more like a religion, a set of beliefs with very little evidence to back it up.

Heās right about free speech, he was wrong to say that the disturbed child-abuse victim Milo Yiannoulos was just a joker, a short while before MY came out and basically said paedophilia wasnāt wrong. Heās probably a slave to the Alt-Right dollar at this stage.
As I understand Karl Popper, his test for whether something is science or not is to see if itās a theory that is capable of being disproven through experimentation. Based on that evolutionary psychology is just about science, most of the time, in that, say if it turned out our brains were full of washing-up liquid instead of testosterone and serotonin then that would disprove their theories, but itās still highly speculative. These speculative theories are reported in a lot of MSM newspapers as facts or discoveries.
I donāt think itās enough to say that we are programmed to respond to dominance and hierarchy in a similar fashion to lobsters (Iām over-simplifying I know) and therefore we should structure our societies around hard masculine hierarchies. People arenāt lobsters and canāt live like them. People are spiritual beings with a strong sense of right and wrong, justice and injustice.
Also, just general point but the idea of a guy who for years needed hardcore anti-depression medication just to function day-to-day going around now and telling people how to live their lives is bullshit.
Also he has a sexy and weird daughter who has started a weird online diet cult, based around only eating meat. No veg ever. If sheās for real sheās slowly killing herself. She shows signs of thinking the only thing that matters in life is fame/attention, which reflects poorly on him. ALso he says heās doing that diet now too, which might suggest that heās a complete mentaller.

Everyone on earth exists somewhere on the fascism-spectrum. A sign of being high on that spectrum is that you lack the self-awareness / honesty to face up to your own faults. A symptom of that lack of honesty is an insistence that you alone, uniquely amongst humanity, are not anywhere on the fascism-spectrum, an insistence that youāre near-perfect. This means that almost all modern-day INTERNET lefties are ironically extremely high on the fascism-spectrum.
