Kilkenny GAA thread

No pressure on him. Nothing to prove.

It’s Kilkenny we’re talking about. There’s always hurlers growing off trees there. It’s not Laois or even Carlow trying to field a county team from 5 senior clubs.

Their underage teams have been well off it over the past decade and @Fagan_ODowd was saying a few months ago that the young lads in Primary School down there can barely puck the ball to eachother nowadays.

Cody is doing a phenomenal job.

If you’re not hating us then there’s something wrong, we need to start winning again soon

That’s more like it

Cody as usual pulled the rabbit out of the hat again yesterday, feel sorry for Davy Fitz though

It’s gas some of the Kilkenny lads want him out

Aten bread is soon forgotten

Watched it back today, Adrian Mullen did some hittin on lads. Himself and Donnelly won the Limerick semi-final in 2019 doing the same with the amount of ball they both leaked. Heartening to see a fella get better and better as the year goes on after his injury. Hope Cody gave him a compliment yesterday. Was concerned he was a glory hunter, but he’s not. Fair fucks to him.

We’re fighting for 2nd place but it’s great to be somewhere in the mix of the top 3/4.

Poor from Parkinson, very poor. Said it at the time and il say it again. That article asked questions publicly that most were only asking in private. I saw no “hatchet” job at the time but Parkinson seems to be of the belief that Kilkenny “are back” and more luck to him. He’s up there with the greatest hurling pundits we’ve had I suppose

I await the reply with baited breath :popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn:

It would be insanity for Kilkenny to get rid of Cody.
.

The article was balanced, nuanced and fair I thought. I also wonder whether BC didn’t read it, ponder it, take it on board and change. He seems a lighter, better humoured man this season, a man enjoying it greatly, and the team seems to have responded. They played a joyous game against Wexford. An epic game. It’s a shame it was extra time rather than a replay.

Yep that’s exactly the kind of man Cody is

Honestly until recently I found him a dour and dissembling individual. This season he has been good humoured, informative, open and honest. His interviews are the most interesting out there.
Of course if Galway end up playing them I’ll revise my opinion according to proceedings.

It’s Covid, he absolutely loves Covid

Very needy from Parkinson. They beat Wexford ffs. A lot of that article is positive offering solutions and hardly a hatchet job. We won’t know if it’s right until KK are at business end, I suspect the change is happening there culturally but it will be a next generation manager like Shefflin or Eddie who will oversee most of it.
I also think it’s way too early to judge any team based on one win. I suspect Wexford would lose to every Munster county in 70 mins not the 90 it took KK.

I was in the Cody Out camp but I’m now in the Cody In camp. It’s down to BC that KK hurling is still relevant.
