He got a ban for abusing a match official but during the next game he was still on the sideline (county quarter final I think) as the game reached its climax.
He was then reported by a couple of members of other competing clubs for breaking his suspension.
I missed the end with neighbours Trick or Treating but pretty interesting, didn’t realise he had to switch clubs at the start of secondary school. The players spoke with Cody about the need to modify tactics. He took a long time to fully make his mark at senior (relatively for his talent) and he felt that and that maybe certain teammates doubted him. Cody’s opinion of how he was going had a big bearing on his confidence and he feels he should’ve been stronger than that.
When Sean was still hurling with the Lockes, Richie and Paddy would be there every night with him hitting balls back to us or between themselves until twas home time.
They learnt it all in the Park.
Look at the video after we beat Thomastown for the Intermediate in 1993, Seán being interviewed by Barrie and Richie is there holding the cup, looking up in awe at his Dad.
Plenty of other lads I hurled with from The Bridge lived on that hill and there was never a problem. But Danesfort dug in their heels. The Bishop and all got involved at the time.
Pretty sure I was at that game, went to all Lockes games when I was younger as the Lockes was the auld fellas 2nd team. Loved going down to Piltown, always sure to see a row.
Apologies, Barrie was over us the same year. Had a look at the interviews there. Brilliant from Seán in how he spoke. Little Richie below him with the cup.
We played a rake of matches down in Piltown, especially down in the Junior grade in the early to mid 80’s. Piltown was where that battle again Mooncoin happened but that was after my time of living in the parish. The @Callans might know better when that happened. Lads on the Lockes team grabbed from behind the wire and held as they got pummeled by the Mooncoin knuckle draggers.
