Daly next Galway manager to be named during the week fact
There is a meeting tomorrow night alright so you could be right Joe.
As far as I know he has it and I would be delighted as I love galway
How many more will they name after him before actually appointing someone?
Well they will galway will win next year
Time to go Anthony
Ouch.
HIS GONE SINCE TUSEDAY. OFFICALY GONE MONDAYā¦ CUE YOU KNOW WHO :
i dunno joe. heāll have them going through walls but is he man enough to admit he hasnāt a clue about forward play and keep cloonan or get someone in for that side of things?
Apparentlyā¦ They had a vote last night but it fell through on a ātechnicalityā. So they vote again in Monday night. Meanwhile the football clubs have been asked to vote for AC.
I HAVE INSIDERS TOO
They wonāt beat claire.
Is Tony keady not been brought on board with Daly
They should hold on to cloonan imo
Cloonan will probably stay - or at least I hope so! His uncles might have a ābit of pullā as they say. By all accounts, it sounds as if he developed a good rapport with the forwards. A few more playing with the ruthless streak Cloonan had as a player and weād be doing alright.
Would Cloonan not be fit to take it on himself?
Possibly. Cyril Farrell managed Galway to success in his 20s. Biggest issue in Galway is the egos. Heroes at minor and notions / delusions of greatness after that. I always pegged Cloonan as a leader. Maybe not a great man to deliver a rousing speech, but his actions spoke loud and clear. Plus, he was a ruthless bastard. Knew when to stick the knife into a team. And when to turn it.
One thing Iāll say for Cloonan, he performed on the big days. My mark of a player is not the guy thatāll get the lovely scores when youāre 4 or 5 points up - itās the guy that does the dirty work and scores when the team is struggling all around him. Cloonan won many games for Athenry that in hindsight they had no right to win. Unfortunately, we didnāt get to see him half as often as Iād have liked for Galway due to the Championship set-up and the failings of the teams he was involved in.
Does this make him management material?
mybe
The Galway hurling panel had another vote last night.
23 will strike if Cunningham stays.
6 support Cunningham, believed to contain āa number of the starting team from the All-Ireland finalā.
A further 3 would play on under him.
Clubs voting tonight with a two-thirds majority needed to remove him.
It canāt always be the manager, except in Limerick. Itās always the fucking manager in Limerick.
