Haysey…
Hayes was a battler who maximized his ability, remember him as a five foot nothing minor throwing it high and hitting up into it and driving points from midfield.
But Broderick was a rolls Royce, one of the most skilful players in the country in his time allied to lightning pace
Appetite for the battle trumps fancy dan traits all day long.
Hayes would eat a pallet for you.
As an aside, it’s great to see forum heavyweight, @ambrosefahy, make a welcome return to cast his vote.
He actually would, the donkey.
Broderick was no fancy Dan afraid to contribute God knows we can recognize them. Remember club games then sure, Broderick would turn them on his own,Hayes wouldn’t
Good god
Hayes was saving it for Croke Park for the County.
The sheer aggression of the one ICONIC goal against those cunts is clouding your judgment the one ICONIC point was wizardry
The goal was needed, that point was just a bit of showboating.
The point ended a cody three in a row,the goal was against an average tipp team
Did that point win the game?
It let us believe
ah sthop. We were six points up when he scored that point.
Hayes couldn’t point a ball from outside the 45 yard line. The highlights reel of his career is full of balls dropped into the goalies hand. He had a savage engine and could possibly have been better utilized in a deeper position. He was nullified pretty easily in big games too.
Broderick has all the skills but he got horsed out of it too easily. I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night full of regret with how we tried to build a forward line with Fergal Healy, Kevin Broderick and Alan Kerins… and whilst they had all the skills in the world they were easily nullified by piggish defenders.
Nice to have a hurling man comment to negate all the bogballers / clueless.
They were both average and you couldn’t depend on either of the cunts.
In minor he could. He lost the ability in senior though
