King Henry of Galway (Part 1) 👑

Big physical side, would have possibly beaten us if they had a bit more fitness in them. looked to be more about them than Wexford who rocked up to Salthill the same summer and couldn’t beat a Galway side unable to convert a free.

Tuam was something else the following night.

For 2 weeks… I woke up on the couch in Martin macs pub on the Thursday morning after they won… I had a bit of a chat to myself and went at it again,:rofl:few of the team and a few more panned out there as well… Some craic

Was Galway the Monday night? I remember being barley able to stand outside Sean Dunleavys place (the Sacre Coeur) hotel at about 4.30am after the spending the evening drinking in the cathedral car park and a house party in Cherry Park in the middle somewhere too… I think they got fed in the Scare Coeur at about 5am.

Jesus I think they finished in Tuam Monday night but I could be wrong

No went to the City that night, it was all hours from what I could remember. Despite being from ‘town’ I ended up on the sauce in Corofin.

It meant a lot to me, but I was always more of a hurling man, but you could see what it meant to the locals. It was just magic.

Was too young to drink  but I had a dinger of a ticket about 8 rows back from the Galway bench, I climbed the railing and knelt in the middle of the subs the last five minutes, then was first to the cordon in front of the presentation. Will we ever see it again

You could be right. Ti’s all a bit of a haze.

I woke up in St Stephens Green. I have a vague memory of being in The Plough at some point beforehand

I was living in a bedsit on North Great Charles St at the time, when I got back there Monday morning the brother was fast asleep in the hall. A sound auld lad called Barry from Cork who was coming home from his nightshift lived there found him asleep out front wearing the colors and somehow got him inside
