King Henry of Galway (Part 1) 👑

If he will agree to take payment in burgers & chips he has a chance.

I’d hire Nick Leeson before I’d hire Davy.

Davy is the man

Davy has an emotional connection to Galway. He wouldn’t put us wrong so he wouldn’t

Probably be cheaper anyway.

Damien Hayes is beyond the beyonds thick. Dandelions between his ears.

A friend knows lads with whom DH travelled to training towards the end of his ‘career’. Took years off their life, apparently. DH would start bugling leaving Portumna – “I’m not just the best forward in Galway: I’m the best forward in Ireland; how can I not be on this team?” – and be on the same note arriving at training.

Did I make that point a few weeks ago…?

Bit lost there…

As I said last night to @glenshane about ketamine, there is no shame in being a bit lost.

The selectors.

SO’N ruined himself from the start with the selectors he accepted.

I’d say now you wouldn’t have to wander too far from your own abode to find the equivalent of Damien Hayes in a hurler.

It was a very bold move, considering the back record of our Goalkeepers in senior AI hurling finals. Very bold indeed.

This has Lynskey written all over it. Jeffrey that is, not Brendan.

Lads, its Davy. Make your peace.

Never Never Never

As @myboyblue would say, just relax, dont fight it, it’ll all be over soon.

SON’s tenure can only be seen as successful. His primary objective was achieved. He scuttled his native county’s nearest challengers. Had it not been for a wonderfully mischievous rumour then SON would likely stil be in a position to continue his good work. What he has achieved in such a short time is unlikely to be salvageablle anyway.

Galway lads, is any new manager on a hiding to nothing anyway in terms of support available from the county board? Seems to be Donohue was shafted some way or another? Someone also said SON was going nowhere with the selectors he accepted or was required to select. Donohue seems to be the stand out name from the short list articles going around. You can’t argue with him getting Galway over the line but plonking Glynn at full forward doesn’t suggest he’s the most advanced tactical mind either.

Donoghue is a good manager. He managed Clarenbridge to a club All Ireland playing a lovely brand of hurling. Can’t see him going back to it.

He seems a really good man too. To me Galway had played far better hurling in previous years than in 2018, maybe not consistently enough, but I suppose the win is all that matters. Tessio seemed to have cracked it a few times but always seemed to brainfart something to mess it up or tore things up and started again.
