Le Tour 2015

If PK laughs at the notion he’s clean, is that enough for you?

Not really. Though pk would be an opinion I would hold in high regard. I think froome seems a decent sort. I’m withholding judgement as he’s promised to submit to full independent testing after the tour. Once I see his VO2 max test (or don’t) i’ll judge.

Kimmage is on Off the Ball at around 8.30pm.

Kimmage is on now actually. Love when he has a go at Walsh without naming him.

Jesus Adrian isn’t a great interviewer. Very good from Kimmage though.

I was busy in the rehearsal studio crafting the best band in Ireland after a day’s toil. Looking forward to listening to my pal tomorrow.

Van Garderen has pulled out of the race. Was in third place.

Any reason given Sid?

Pulled out halfway through today’s stage due to illness and headaches, presumably brought on by a batch of infected creamed rice* he had eaten.

Sam Bennett gone too. TJ has been sick seemingly. Quintana pushed it on first hard climb and he couldn’t stick it

Any of ye ever go watch a stage of the Tour?

Yep, in 1998

Me too.

Snaps

I mean a proper stage. In France.

My family arrived into Paris on a train from Strasbourg at about 1:30pm the day the 1991 Tour finished. I was mad to go and see it but was overruled in favour of leaving our bags at a hotel somewhere in the north eastern suburbs. I watched it on television at the hotel instead. It was the day Abdoujaparov had that massive crash at the finish. To think I could have seen that live if I hadn’t been overruled. I had to make do with walking past the spot where it happened a few hours later. That was as close as I got, apart from the 1998 stage in the Phoenix Park.
