Sure by your logic then they may as well have had a random grade generator for each pupil. āSuck it up lads - thems just the rules - youāll be all the better for it in the long runā
They should just give anyone who complains and was within a few points their course
Logic in my postā¦ Unlikely.
Aine marks (down)
Bottom line is that the exams should have gone ahead. If there was any bit of will in the country.
Iām only waiting for the lawsuit where the student got too many points and got their first choice instead of their third cos thatās āreally the course I wanted to doā
My son was marked down a grade in 5 (five) ()
subjects. The algorithm really had it in for him. He fucked up his CAO as well, looks like he will be well gone 20 before he gets to college.
The local community school?

Would he not consider some sort of a plc and then transferring?. Itāll work out chief. Young people have a lot more doors open to them now. Just dont panick. I wish you the best

Institute, took him out of SI for 6th year as he was going through a hard time and wouldnāt go to school. You think you are doing your best by them.
Ah thatās rough. Twenty isnt too bad though. No harm being a little older going to college I reckon. And itās not like heās missing much in college this year.

Ah I know, just the thoughts of him thrun in the bed for the next year!
Did he get offered anything through CAO at all?
Whatās he into? Can you get creative and get him some relevant experience in the area?
Sorry to hear pal. Maybe one of the TFK fat cats could hook him up with a job.
Whatās he hoping to do, if you donāt mind me asking? There might be some kind of PLC type course that he could try out for a year to see if it is a fit for him?
Also @Mullach_Ide, many of the ITs etc are still actually offering courses that can be applied through CAO as long as someone has the points. Basically they didnāt get enough students to fill them after the offers went out
E.g. : https://www.dkit.ie/undergraduate-cao/available-places.html
That should really be more widely known, though I suppose most of those hard done by hadnāt set their sights on an IT

A year labouring will get him motivated for getting back to education
Carlow and Waterford IT are flooding the airwaves on local radio stations here saying this and welcoming applications. Carlow have places available in every course they offer.
Tbh, it sounds like her grades are about right.
She can always go to one of the other medical schools Iād imagine. Such is life. @anon67715551 is spot on here.
Discrimination against private school kids however, may play well to some, but it is discrimination nontheless.
In any case, itāll be interesting to hear the āexpertsā cross examined in court
