Maher in midfield for Kilkenny was absolutely class. Put a few wide but was all over the pitch and one to watch for the future. P Walshe was very impressive too.

I thought Maher had a huge game. I was surprised when he scored a point late on and Duignan said he’d been having a quiet game, like all the midfielders on show.

He was the best player on the pitch. Today was all about Kilkenny and we were lucky to get a draw. I can’t remember one of their own puckout that Galway won. Kilkenny’s ability to catch a ball is unreal, thank fuck the cunts can’t score for shit nowdays as they’d have beaten us out the gate.

Fine player. Very good indeed. Fast and skilful and not in the slightest bit bothered by the occasion. Looked a far better prospect than any of the galway up and comers. Interestingly, I actually think kk were at their peak yesterday, just killed by wides. If they cut those down they’re a match for anyone. Galway were outplayed for swathes of that game. The replay will be very interesting. If they are going to lump down high ball, they should just play Glynn from the start.
Despite the closeness, it never really caught fire, and I enjoyed the munster final more. Kk, as usual, are a team making the absolute most of themselves. Richie Hogan and Fennelly certainly didn’t improve them, which says all you need to know. Billy Ryan has the pace to be a real thorn in the side of a defender. Only thing is he didn’t put the fear of God into me at any stage, as Kk don’t quite carry the goal threat of old.
Agree about maher. Outstanding.

Fwiw, and I would think so, I thought the ref was far easier on kk grappling than galway. Kk have an annoying tendency to dive also, but are good at it. I thought he was OK though. The result was fair enough, so the ref was about right.

Yep spot I pointed this out months ago and a few of the Galway lads had a meltdown. Galway have become totally obsessed with size and bulk. Cork or Clare could destroy him with the speed and movement they can play with.
