Leitrim Gaa 2021

Not the worst draw ever.We could have 2 in the bag before we go to Antrim. What happens if 2 teams finish level on pts

All the permutations are on the Observer. John Connolly has all the bases covered.

John Connolly is a Dub - I only found that out recently.

He’s with the Observer a fair spell now, he’s taken root. He’s inevitably fair but he’s gone stale I find. Now, it’s not covering the Boston Red Sox but you know he’s never going to be controversial or stray from the script. Terry has him in his pocket too I feel but Hey!!! it’s endemic in rural weeklies I guess.

He knows his shit about club football to be fair,I remember him tipping Manor to win a few in a row after the 08 final but maybe that was an easy one

Not to take in any way from Manor’s success but club football was very weak in the county until about 2015. Manor had a super crop of players in or about their prime, were well coached and were committed.
Since then the gap has closed somewhat and the coming championship will be competitive if nothing else.

Whats all this @anon67715551 I can’t read the print

They’re aspiring to have a new clubhouse, dressing rooms and a fully kitted-out gym I thank you. Unfortunately, they just haven’t gotten all the money for this vanity project just yet, but they will be contacting you shortly with a view to extorting some shekels from you.

Sweet mother of Jesus.

There is a lot of anger already in Mohill for constant fundraising.

I think they already got a grant for a lot of that.

@anon67715551 would you know many at the ‘Executive’ level?

Not nice people.

Well, they could let Katherine Lynch and the mother make a mini-series about some of the towns old stagers/characters. Boola McCrann first show followed by his brother Skull. Skull is a great oul’ character.

Boola - yes absolutely.

Skull - not so much.

:rage::rage:

I had a feeling that might provoke a comment. Brian Gordon I’d say is the cistéoir with Stephen Flynn, Colm Conway and assorted Kennedys in vital roles. I don’t know much about their club activities and while I know a few of them personally I’m not aware of any other titbits.

Kennedys are grand. Conway not the worst, Flynn would fight with his shadow but not the worst.

Did you mention someone else?

Could a Leitrim team ever rattle a Connacht club?

We haven’t rattled anyone in the past 20 odd years unless we encounter a weak Sligo outfit. The original Willies with Flanagans, Quinn’s and Gilheaneys about 1990 were the last club to consistently if unsuccessfully mount a token resistance.
They were beaten in the finals of 92/94 by Knockmore and Tuam Stars and haven’t repeated these heroics despite winning 3 titles in the 10’s.

They were bate by the fog

Ah! the day of the fog. I was in a group of our own lads supporting them and I never seen as many punches thrown within 20 yards. The ref saw fuck all but you couldn’t see either set of posts. A hometown sub ran in about 3 times and got stuck in every time. The last time he came back with a nosebleed and didn’t venture again. There was a mighty evening in the Viking after it…
