We’ve lads who probably throw their hat at it now thinking their too good for a B competition, instead of using it as a bit of extra training and getting a few matches under their belt.I don’t even think we qualify anyways tbf
Leitrim 0-03
Mayo 0-01
Blow it up ta fuck - too foggy.
Barry McNulty needed to turn up and he has so far,
A great bit of stuff. Terrible evening for it and a very small crowd.
Could have played it in Cloone and kept them Mayo savages off the new pitch.
A zinger from Barry McNulty
Mayo 0-18
Leitrim 0-13
60 gone
Time-honoured failings undoing Leitrim. The practise of carrying the ball into contact is never wise. A few rash decisions when threatening their goal have taken from what can be described as a battling performance.
Barry Mac outstanding. Mayo are no great shakes in all honesty.
A respectable performance after a terrible league,I was expecting a 20 PT mauling. The minors done alright last night too tbf
some chinks of light in the dark sky over the weekend. Hopefully we will built on that performance and compete in the TC, one win may be enough to get to the last 12 if we can just compete in the other games, but if we can open with a win it would give a great boost to the lads and the county
After the league the only was is up really.
Chinks of light @thanks2me
Incredibly Junior Cap seems to have been the hero on the night. Darren Cox, Jack Kelly and Junior supplied the bulk of the scores.
Always nice bring that one home
Junior Cap is a fine footballer tbf
Great result and good to see the young lads getting the wins they deserve. Not all doom and gloom. As I’ve said numerous times, the youth teams and home grown mgmt is where we need to be putting our resources, the talent is there if they can be kept involved
It is indeed, but pushing them on now to make the seniors and keeping them together is where we have been falling down.Thats what we need to work on big time.
It would be nice to see the minors put in a big effort in the B championship.
Hopefully they stay involved a bit more now the game is more enjoyable and crushing defeats like over the past decade might be less of a thing.
Listen young lads have lives and the chance of winning anything is very slim so you can understand lads doing other stuff. Its a bit depressing as we are producing as good a player as most counties underage.
You need lots of them sadly as some will fuck off. Thats why what Offaly do every now and then where they bring through a large scatter at the one age is so unique. You’d hope the group could be a tight one and you’d knock a few years out of them. But yeah, I’d not begrudge any young lad having a bit of a life.
