Webster can say what he wants about not moving. Does anyone remember what Mervyn King said about moving? If he’s anything to go by even Martin Adams could move.
Whoa, lost the run of myself there…
John Boy walked on stage to Cotton Eye Joe by Rednecks. Gas.
Is Bobby George involved in the coverage this year? Haven’t seen him yet.
He is indeed.
Think Walton’s is still better than Tony O’Shea’s ‘Hey Baby’

With everyone from second rate betting journalists to Joan Rivers slating the BDO Championship, players and organisers alike at the Lakeside have hit back against the PDC love machine. “The PDC crowd are awful and Alexandra Palace is a terrible venue,” former World Champion Martin ‘Wolfie’ Adams barked. While John Boy Walton added, “The PDC is ‘sports entertainment’, while the BDO has a more educated crowd who love good darts.” Unfortunately, they always leave disappointed. Drunk, but disappointed. “At the PDC, everyone’s waving those boards about and just trying to get on TV,” adds BDO spokesman Robert Holmes. “It’s just one big booze-up and the darts is secondary.” Err… sounds the same to us. Darryl Fitton has been in good form, but will he continue to dazzle at the Lakeside?
Anderson here has had a disaster on the doubles here so far. He’s managed to stay in the game and is 4-3 down against O’Shea. Come on Dream Boy.
O’Shea’s to lose now.
Anderson gone.
Who is going to win this now?
Fitton?
Fitton’s Madness entrance is a mixture of quality and cringe. Pretty funny when he does the Suggs dance to the crowd.
Just noticed - both Fitton and Waites have that stupid bit of hair directly under their mouth.
Idiots.
Epic comeback by Fitton. We’ll have an all Stockport semi-final on Saturday.
Fittons entrance was pretty good at the GSOD purely because the PDC know how to present a tournament.
How did he do at that level Flano? He always seems like a decent scorer around treble twenty but I can’t imagine him having much joy given the amount of doubles he misses.
He played Anderson in the 1/4 Finals but there are rumours of match fixing so can’t say for certain how he would have done.
Wasn’t the match fixing allegation related to the group game between them though where a 5-3 scoreline to Anderson guaranteed that both would qualify?
Can’t belive Anderson bottled it again. O’Shea only hit something like an 86 average.
Robson really starting to find the target now after adams looked to be coasting…wolfie starting to bottle it.
Cunt…
Christ, this is quite a veteran semi-final line-up:
Fitton vs O’Shea
Wolfie vs Hankey
O’Shea defeated Fitton 6-4. Fitton was 2-1 up before O’Shea reeled off 4 straight sets to forge 5-2 ahead. Then Fitton started playing well and won the next two sets to bring himself right back into it. He went 2-1 up in the 10th set before missing three darts at the double to level it at 5-5. He had another 3 darts to bring it to a decider in the 5th leg but bottled it again and O’Shea finished it on bull to take the match. Like against Anderson, his average wasn’t great but O’Shea finished better and had more composure on his doubles.
Hankey and Adams are locked at 2-2 in the second semi-final.
Lovely darts there as the Count beat the Cunt. Think of darts and think of Stoke and you only think of one man - Ted “the Count” Hankey (although I think there might have been a lad called Taylor who won a couple of world titles back in the early 90’s but faded inexplicably from the scene. Pity, he could have been a player if he’d stuck with it).
The Count says his improved form this year is down to cutting down his drinking before matches to three pints. From twelve. And his fitness obsession is really paying dividends. Great to see him back in the final and superb to see the camaraderie with Wolfie on stage at the end. Amazing averages too, up into the nineties, that’s enough to win you any title in the world.
And like Tony Green says, this is the biggest title in the world, the one they all want to win, but at the end of the day those players up there are like a family. And the players always get the very best of order. You’ll find the true darts fan at Lakeside.
Best game of the championship and proof that any imminent moves by players away from the family will only be trimming dead wood. In fact it will strengthen the BDO. Looking forward to the 2015 championship which will consist of three players - Adams, Hankey and John “Boy” Walton.
Well said Sid
