Will attempt a half either tomorrow or Monday.

Iā€™ll be mainly off road. Iā€™d imagine thereā€™ll be some walking/crawling/slow jogging

Iā€™m currently deliberating over two pairs of shoes to decide which to wear. An older version of an Asics trail shoe thatā€™s probably lost a bit of grip but are quite comfortable (theyā€™ve nearly 400km in them). Bought a new version of them recently, plenty of grip, but not as comfortable (a little snug on the left foot). If the next day or two is as wet as expected, Iā€™ll have to go with the newer ones as some of the descents are going to be very slippy

You can count me out this weekend lads, the back has flared up and Iā€™m as crooked at a barrel of snakes

Finally a chance for @Thomas_Brady to bate you

Anyone here doing the virtual marathon this weekend? A clatter of people doing it locally. I thought it was a ridiculous thought at first but something nice about the idea of getting out to cheer on a few local people amidst all the shite going on.

Iā€™m working 7 days a weekā€¦ Iā€™ve no time for pissing around with middle class pursuits.

I was supposed to do the half with a former TdeM cyclist who had a near fatal fall off her bike, came out of a coma and trained tho year to do the DCM. She had the Blackrock to Passage greenway marked out as her route and a rake of us lined up to run with her. She has to do it largely on her own now in her own area. No fear of her though, sheā€™s a warrior :muscle:. And she would have saved that back pass yday :roll_eyes:

Seems the 5km restriction doesnā€™t matter for anyone doing it so yez should help her along if you can. Some lad who buried his 7 year old kid at the start of Covid was the local inspiration and has a load of people going with him. Puts our own problems in perspective!

:joy::joy::joy::joy: Good one mate

Went out to do a slow 1 hour run and ended up doing 12km at 5:13 pace. Much quicker than I expected. First time Iā€™ve done longer than 5k on the roads since early August

5:13 is slow for you, mate.

I expected to be doing 5:30 or something
