I never said English is weak in the air, he is very good in the air. He is not as good or as composed on the ball as our other full backs. Hence why tipp left him unmarked for short puck outs, confirmed to me by two tipp players -yeâll note I pointed out smart teams would do this months back. In general English has been very very good so far.
Mike Casey has really tightened up the full backline no end. Nothing fancy, just gets his body in the way and inevitably does the right thing.

The parade was in tne programme for 1-54, my daughter was keeping an eye on tne proceedings with a fine tooth comb, she wasnât happy, she was kept busy wondering where Dowlings frees ended up though, she reckoned one ended up around Ivanâs

I think the first half display was probably the best half of hurling Iâve seen since from a Limerick side since the dismantling of the same opposition in the first 20 minutes of the 07 semi.
It was fucking mesmerising. The movement both on and off the ball was mind boggling. Even the WaterFord half back line at one stage didnât have a fucking clue who to pick up coming through.
The game was won once Mulcahy bungled in the second goal.
Plenty of posters have given their analysis of who played well etc. But for me Cian Lynch is just a coloss as. Hus reading , skill , work rate is just unbelievable.
Second half was pedestrian enough and even the goal was reeled back in within 5 minutes.
A sharp contrast in feeling compared to the second half last weekend when I came out without a finger nail nor a toe nail and only for it was non smoking, I wouldnât have had anything left out of a full box of fags either.
I think we are on a good position. The second half was nothing more than a glorified training session and should leave us a little fresher.

Most teams have a corner back that is not as good on the ball that the opposition are happy to allow unmarked for short puck outs. That is very basic stuff. On DOD, my point was simply that he had an outstanding game and is going from strength to strength.
