I might be wrong but we only beat wexford in the all Ireland quarter final in 2014. Hardly a team of note.
Again I donāt want to be castrated but that was my initial impression. I felt English was in the right position but Quaid didnāt intercept. Thought Dan m was too far off McCormack but was obviously unlucky the ball rebounded out.
Learned a lot and win. Can ask for fuck all else. To be that dominant against them can only bode well
Iām home, Iām drunk and Tipp are beaten.
Strange game, strange, but welcome, composure about Limerick. I didnāt think it would happen but we were utterly superior to a poor and rudderless Tipperary team. Their supporters were fair thick with their management and justifiably so today. They should still have a big say but if they lose to Cork in Thurles next weekend theyāre as good as gone.
Byrnes MOTM for me. Didnāt put a foot wrong and and showed all the signs of a lad that has been spoken to and listened. Graeme Mul tormented them and was flying before picking up a knock. Dan Morrissey very solid also.
Itās one game of marathon and nobody should be carried away but we went out to do a job and did it efficiently.
Great performance today. But still I heard a few apes giving about about Gillane, the lad was brilliant. Delighted for Hannon and Byrne and Mul. Delighted for the entire team to be honest and John āThe Messiahā Kiely.
A really good result.
The best thing about this set up is their composure and refusal to wilt. Did most of the hurling but went in a point down at the break - calm. Did most of the hurling but a point down with ten mins left - calm. Galway and Clare in the league - calm. Dust themselves down and work their way through it. Massive credit to JK for embedding that in the squad.
I didnāt think we played exceptionally well either. Decent in patches but never hit top gear or anything near it. A six point win with room for loads of improvement - happy days. Savage work rate is a given and we seem to create 30 or 40 chances in most games. Up the conversion rate and weāll trouble most sides.
A good time to face Tipp, first day out. They surely wonāt be as bad again all year. Anyway fuck them.
Delighted for all the players and everyone in the set up. Love to see lads like Graeme Mul shoving criticism down peopleās throats.
Mind you wins for Tipp and Clare next week and youāve four teams on two points, Iād prefer to see both of them beaten again. Third place is still the goal for me anyway. Good to have a break now and rest up for Saturday week.
Iām exhausted but happy. God bless the Limerick hurlers.
Would also agree; Quaid could have come out. Was just a bit slow in making the decision; if he had acted instantly, it was his ball for sure.
But our puckouts were so good; the difference between this year and last year is night & day. One of the main reasons for our turnaround in form. Not just Nicky, the movement of our forwards to create space for each other too.
Thereās wonderful progression in all facets of our game. Peter Casey, dowling, Dempsey, Browne, pat Ryan, mike Casey and the likes of Barry nash are going to be working Their bolox Off to get into that winning team now too. Thereāll be nobody resting on their laurels thatās for sure.
Iām in Nenagh, Roscrea and Thurles tomorrow.
Rewatching here. Hickey wasnāt really roasted he gave three needless frees attacking balls he shouldnāt have attacked. It was more misjudgments. He wasnāt turned inside out or anything.
He was wrong footed with the rebound anyway.
Yep Iām Being very harsh. He was unlucky it rebounded straight to his man but these things can be ironed out easily.
I see Tipp scored from 2-5 from play. We need to lower the number of frees being given away. 1st Half was very bad with regards frees
Donal o Grady is a serious wanker on rte commentary.
I didnāt think hickey done too much wrong for the forde goal. You have to appreciate the excellence of the finish and the run. Sean finn should have cut the ball out too. Wouldnāt be harsh on SĆ©amus there.
From the forde goal which leveled things at 2-12 to 18 points on 51 minutes limerick out scored tipp 1-5 to 0-2 in the final 20 minutes. Thatās a real sign of a brillaint team.
A sign of an unstoppable juggernaut of a team. Donāt sell yourselves short whatever ye do.
Iād a great view of Hickey in the first halfā¦Didnāt really feel he was completed roasted either. Initial feeling were the frees he gave away were soft.
Either way you are never comfortable with him in that position
Yep the frees two of them were him being over eager.
What a statement.
