This group of young lads are beautiful in every way - they have loads to learn and improve on but they never, ever give up. How many games this year have they looked beaten only to claw their way back into it? And not by hip and whip either but by smart, composed hurling. If we can improve our shooting accuracy even slightly we will be putting up big numbers ā¦ This can be worked on tho - we have the raw ingredients all over the field and the spirit of the team is just immense. Finn and English are a fucking joy to watch - not two fucks do they give.
Gonna be a step up again the next day tho ā we got a break today in that the game probably came a little early for some of Tippās bigger players and they were way off form today. The speed and intensity of the second game looked up on our one on a much bigger pitch we will need to up it from today ā Cork could be down a few players by then tho with another big day out against Tipp next week.

He is not a giant but he is brilliant in the air. Every time it goes in high to him you expect him to win it. Made two or three outrageous high catches that led to scores from play or pointed frees. He seems to tire physically late in games but hopefully that extra fitness will come in time.
Interesting to see what way we set up personnel wise for the inside line when Casey returns. 2 from Mul, Gillane and Caseyā¦

Weāve depth from midfield up no doubt but Iām a bit worried about the backs we donāt have a huge amount of options if key men like Byrnes or Hannon got injured
I havenāt watched it back, but I think you have to be ruthless. Full-back is not a position you can fuck around with. Forde isnāt blessed with massive pace and was never going to run rings around Hickey but he still didnāt cope all that well. I wouldnāt discard him, but Iād be willing to give Casey a shot against Cork.
