Getting ahead of myself here but if they drop down to the Senior B group (it’ll be them or Ballybrown) and we get promoted (be tough, but hopefully), we’d be playing them in Championship. Be a grand oul battle.
Your getting way ahead of yourself. By a distance
Eric Neville. He’s Askeaton more than Ballysteen.
I know, I know.
But whether it happens next year or not for another few years, it’s going to happen soon.
probably.
The senior teams that go down from A to B will easily beat most teams in B
The senior team that is relegated to Prem Inter is a good bet to come back up.Actually not abad time to come up as the B division is actually competitive. The jump up to A is massive however.
I would say that there is very little between Premier Intermediate and the likes of Cappamore, Knockainey, Monaleen anyway. If any of them were to go down, they’d be around the upper half of Premier but not guaranteed to win it by any means.
Bruff came down last year and to be fair look impressive. But they’re by no means clear favourites either.
I’d just love a crack off Adare though. Or Ballybrown.
I’d bet adare/ballybrown are much closer to the top of the premier intermediate than they are to nap for example.
I’d say so, but only way to find out is in the heat of Championship.
We’ve played plenty of senior sides in challenge matches but you have no real concept of the gap between teams unless you play them in a real match.
That isn’t a slight either on adare or ballybrown. Ballybrown given they’ve a small area and no county players and even not many underage county players are putting in a ridiculous effort to be still up there.
Adare and Ballybrown wou ld beat all the division B sides. The All County leagues give tha alusion that there isnt much of a gap but there is a big one . Bruff would be a decent Prem Inter side amd they lost all their matches in senior last year.
I think they’d be very exciting games. Your also ignoring the effect relagation has on clubs. If adare go down there’ll be a massive rebuilding going on with a fair few lads retiring I’d imagine. They arent competing underage for ten years now and it’s catching up on them. Pretty much every club in Limerick would want a cut off them.
Yeah .
Win the Premier Inter first. There are 2 rounds out of 7 played. Its not like Limerick hurling supporters to be getting aheasd of themselves
What? I simply said the top premier intermediate clubs would be closer to adare/balllybrown than they would be to nap.
To be fair to Bruff, they were in a much harder group and once you start losing games, confidence goes down.
Would they have been the team relegated had the new format been in place?
I’m halfway through here and Matt is talking pure truth.
It’s a decent listen to be fair.
Matt is a proper limerick Gaa stalwart. A legend and should be cherished. I hope the lads do the business for lads like him on Sunday.
Team being announced 9pm tomorrow evening I assume?
Unchanged probably
Heaing Quaid to 6 is a possibility
