I think Grame has been excellent at getting scores this year in spells where the rest of the forward line seem to be under pressure. When the opposition has looked to be on top he pops up with a point or two.
I have to say, I didnāt even think heād make the team this year but heās a shoe in for an All Star now.
He had a funny game last week. He was actually well held for most of the first half. Then he popped up with three points in three minutes on 29, 30 and 31 minutes. Two from passes and one from pouncing on a loose ball and firing it over. Watching back his marker probably had the better of their match up but then he still does damage like that. Whoād want to be a corner back. 3 points in 3 minutes is unreal.
He got one amazing score at the weekend. Flanagan and Cahalane I think it was grappling for a ball, Mul nips in under the Hogan Stand, blazes it a mile into the air and straight over the black spot.
Twas a beaut. Cahalane makes an absolute dogs dinner of it, trying to shepherd the ball out over the line, Flanagan comes in to try and horse him out of it and then Mulcahy nips in like a childer robbing sweets and splits the posts.
Iāll tell ye lads. Seamus Hickey actually deserves a special mention. I thought we were fucked when he came on but he steadied the ship. Shored it up back there and didnāt put a foot wrong
Seamie HIckey is a topper and gets an awful lot of unwarranted flak. Hugely popular within the squad and a real mentor to the younger lads.
Never moans about not starting either - just wants whatās best for the squad. Above all of them, Iād love to see him win an All-Ireland medal. Most of the rest will probably get another chance - he wonāt, youād feel.
Our clubman, John Chawke, represents Limerick in the All-Ireland Poc Fada at the weekend. Won Munster this year for the first time, hope he goes all the way this year.
Agree completly, Hickey is a top fella in fairness to him. I know when the special olympics were on in 2014, Seamus helped out bigtime. My missus was a volunteer and he was there with zero notice.
Think it was extra time in the second half he came tearing across the goal and hammered into some Cark coont who passed into the middle and Casey intercepted back towards goal. A true servant alright and will no doubt impart his knowledge of the build up in 07 to all the young lads
