Told Paul Browne and Dan morrissey both picked up injuries and Daragh o donovan and Michael Casey are due to start.
I have to be honest, if true it strengthens the side. Be interested to watch Forde against Casey.
With Hickey coming out? Iād be much happier if that were the case.
Browne has been a fantastic servant and I wouldnt write him off yet but I think heās been below par the last year or so.
Not sure if DOD is an improvement on Browne or even at his level butās not far off and a similar enough player. I think the changes in the backs will strengthen the unit slightly overall.
Thats Browne, Morrissey, Nash, Casey and Byrnes that I have heard in the last 2 days are out injured. All we need now is a few mental breakdowns and cruciates
Thatās what Iāve been told.
Quaid will end up centre back yet.
DOD made a very good championship debut v Clare in 2016 from midfield.
Na Piarsaigh, new bar opened, get there kidā¦
Plenty of free parking.
Browne hasnāt set the heather ablaze over the last few years .
I donāt think Browneās been poor either. Heās on my list of players that regularly come in for criticism no matter how he plays. Itās hard to pick out any player who has performed well in the last couple years, hard for anyone to look good in a team playing badly. No one challenging for Browneās place has made a convincing case. DOD has potential, I hope he steps up.
I would disagree there mate, we have not really looked at other options. I think we need a bigger physical unit there to help Lynch. Not sure OāDonoghue has the hurling but he is a good presence.
Lynch is a big enough unit himself these days. Browne covers an unreal amount of ground, Iād hazard a guess his GPS stats are off the charts. He does a lot of unflashy work and isnt one for a big wind up and langering it wide from miles out the field that limerick fans traditionally love to see. DOD is next choice for me, he has plenty of running and hurling in him, not sure he stays involved enough. Agree on WOD, a serious presence, full of running, and gets his head up to use the ball well, question mark on whether his hurling is quick enough, I hope he gets an opportunity over the next couple weeks, he could be an addition. Iād have all three ahead of Ryan, donāt think midfield is his position.
Reminder:
Buy the tickets before Sunday and you save a fiver for a pint/Programme
He is nowhere near where he was say from 2011 to 2014 . At best average from 2015 to date .
If he starts he will need to perform .
You could say that about most of the panel that were involved in 2015 to 2017
That is true but it appears there are alternatives now so if fellas donāt perform to required standard they should be replaced .
That said between the older lads and the u21s graduates most still have plenty to prove .
I honestly havenāt a clue how Sunday will go and tbh I would take duignanās prediction with a pinch of salt . These guys like to flag a possible shock .
We are going to walk this. Thatās how itās going to go.
Agreed we will win by 7+
You said that last year for the county final and I backed your boys .
