Leave Richie alone
Ye should win handy
I have been reliably informed that the Limerick football manager Billy Lee wont see the championship.
Players not happy with his methods.
Footballers up by 7 with a few min left!!
Completely forgot about this. O’Carroll & Treacy got the goals apparently.
Ya, good start to the year! Clare had a strong team out.
Twas nothing major and all sorted. Everyone on board.
Billy Lee was sacked before a ball was kicked and there was a clamour to get rid of Kiely after 20 mins of first game.
This site is the pulse of Limerick GAA !!
A clare team with 10 changes it was
Very decent performance. Started nervously and Clare had the first couple of points. It looked like the scars of recent years were festering, but once they got a bit of confidence about themselves they looked very tidy indeed. Good to see Seamie O’Carroll back - he had a fine outing. Iain Corbett dominated the middle and was very well supported by young Paul Hannon who offered great support going forward. Danny Neville kicked a couple of super scores and Ger Collins looked up for it also.
Very positive to see a concerted effort to play attacking football at pace. Kissane seems to be cutting his cloth to suit his measure as we’re not the biggest team around and lack a bit of physicality. He compensated by trying to move the ball at speed from defence and it was good to see. We’ve been waiting a while for it.
Just in from Rhebogue, to quote a man.
Linerick started poorly and should have been behind at halftime. Some bad shooting by clare and a good goal by darragh Treacy gave them a lead st ht 1-4 to 0-5. They hit the ground running for the 2nd half and had a 7pt lead at one stage with a seamus o’Carroll goal. Clare had two goals, both of which were the result of serious over carrying to force a gap which was not blown by the ref.
We deserved the win.
The old reliables all played their part. O’Sullivan is a very good keeper. Kickouts need more work to add options. Collins and o’Carroll are very welcome back. Free taking was very good. Darragh Treacy put in a fine shift. Corbett can stay at 6. Opening s for perhaps 3 forwards such as Ian ryan and a couple of backs. Probably had 10 of a likely championship side playing.
St pats did a fine job and the field was in good condition. Attendance was perhaps 200 to 300.
Ref was not great, fussy for the playing conditions and though my green glasses missed a few things that hurt limerick a lot more than clare.
Jim Bob is back
Good move. He may not be a starter anymore but would bring a wealth of drive and experience if sprung from the bench.
Good stuff. He is only 29, too young to be giving up, but you wouldn’t begrudge him the extra few weeks off, he’s a long time on the road.
Hon Jim Bob.
Surprised he’s only 29, expected he was older. It’s not as if a few weeks off will do him any harm anyway, unreal level of fitness, he’s tireless.
Lads, take that football talk elsewhere.
