They obviously have a decent core group of players across the ages in Crecora at the moment
A big uptick in Crecora’s population in recent years.
Options at midfield but none fully convincing yet. Will Browne be fit and in form in time? Is Lynch going to start at midfield or be named a forward and operate at midfield?
Forwards: looks like Hegarty and Dowling nailed on to start. Expect one of Casey or Mulcahy. Hayes, Dempsey and Nash probably the front runners for the remaining spaces, of which there may be only two if Lynch is named a forward. Ronan Lynch and Morrissey the next two down the line, though Alan Dempsey has been played half forward and WOD could operate there. I’m probably forgetting someone.
Very dependent on how we set up. A lot of those player fairly raw yet. One thing missing is a bit of vision to set up other players for scores. Another reason I think Dowling is better at full forward, he brings others into play. Casey good at this too and a better scoring return than Mulcahy IMO. I’d like a casey Dowling Nash full forward line. I’d see more goals in them than any combination of the others. Dowling or Nash both able to rotate out to our four man half forward line.
Not if they can help it
Had teams last year anyway. Not particularly good teams, but at least they fielded teams.
Crecora have lost a few very talented young hurlers to other clubs as well, one young lad in particular to The Well was a bitter enough blow to them
Is the minor game on the radio tonight?
Hopefully!
I’m not going to get to it, but they usually have these games online anyway.
3rd in 1b I say no more
3 teams from 1B in the semi-finals, it’s obviously the stronger league Joe!
Yea
Up by 2 points in the 58th minute and they lost by three points.
Scorers for Limerick: Paul O’Brien 0-11 (7fs, 1 65), Dylan O’Shea 2-2, David Woulfe 0-3, Dan Minehan and Ronan Connolly 0-1 each.
You’d imagine we’ll learn from that. Can’t be conceding 4 goals, especially when you’re playing a sweeper. Sounds like they just fell asleep really. Seems like a decent group, and Tipp clearly aren’t as strong as last year. Could have a decent season yet.
Pure hearth breaking stuff. Unlimited you could say.
Still there . Decent show . We will probably get ye at home in semi now . Could be worse .
I think the heart breaking part would have been if I had to stay in the shit hole that is Thurles, the result I can get over.
With a nod to @dodgy_keeper, I’m just back from Thurles.
A curate’s egg of a performance. Twice came from both 6 and 8 points down to get back into it, and even lead in the closing stages, before coughing it up through errors.
Tipp had a monster-sized lad at full forward (McKevely, I think) and he had some battle with the outstanding Conor Nicholas. Our goalie made two awful mistakes, in the last minute of the first half & the first minute of the second, to hand two soft goals to Tipp. Limerick never gave it up and I was impressed by the resilience to keep coming back. Michael O’Grady, Jerome Boylan, David Woulfe and a super performance from Paul O’Brien all contributed, Dylan O’Shea scored 2-2, the second of which came after a fine run and pass from Woulfe.
Pity to lose it when we virtually had it won. Led by two points entering injury time. Gave away what I’d call a good free when danger threatened to reduce it to the minimum for Tipp, who won possession from the puckout to fire over a good leveller.
Extra-time was imminent when three defenders left their posts to challenge an attacker who got a pass away to the unmarked Hoctor and he finished one-on-one.
A good bit of raw material to work with, goalkeeper being the main priority. Losers of Cork v Waterford await. That’ll be Waterford.
Ah Thurles isn’t that bad. I love the stadium, I’ll always have fond memories of games there and especially fond memories of various home coming events for our all Ireland winning teams over the years.
Good game of hurling Michael OGrady the pick of the bunch real stand out hurler, Paul OBrien impressive at 11 while Dylan OShea looks a classy corner forward. Connolly did well for goal but maybe needed in the backs
Beefy’s young fella could be in goal yet?
