WHat would na piarsigh know about inter county hurling? They’ve never produced a single decent inter county hurler in their history. The well have produced living legends of the game like Richie Bennie, ciaran etc etc. There’s far more inter county hurlers in that well team than in the nap team who are all as soft as fuck and won’t mix it.

Poor Rod Guiney worked himself into a frenzy pre-game breaking hurls off the dressing room wall and young Barry Foley had 3 or 4 points from play off him before he realised what was happening. LarryO switched across from the other wing after 20 minutes and that was the last we saw of Foley in that game. Fair play to him though - a senior county title at the age of 42 and being the best player in Limerick is no mean feat.

Get with the times. Na piarsaigh were barely founded when Richie (the legend) was hurling. And yet since then we have two all stars and are now the undisputed preeminent hurling club of all of Ireland in the decade so far. Unreal. Unbelievable.
