I doubt it. He’d want to be fairly handy. We might be in the market for a centre back that can pick the ball out of the sky. I don’t think Offaly have one of them at the moment.

Have we really that many players better then Barry O’Connell? Some of the u21 lads sel cred are a bit puzzling.

Na P should have two more if everyone were available and it was picked on form (Breen x2). Throw in three non townies then to keep the country lads happy.

O’Connell is the only outfield 2015 winner not on the panel. He struggled when given opportunities last year, but he’s very young to be throwing on the scrap heap.

That first sentence is outrageous, he was arguably the best player. He didn’t get many chances IMO. Pace may be a challenge for him but that can be improved and it’s better to have lads like that in the panel getting a bit of extra work where they need it than allowing them fall behind.

Relax. I have it on good authority that as the previous approach failed, they are going at it from the other direction, starting with an extended panel of 38 and extending it to 60 as the tide/prevailing wind/opinion of journalists /opinion of lads behind printers dictates.
The big house will fund extra jerseys, benches and medals as necessary.

I’ve said it before, the 2015 u21s have achieved nothing at senior. They should all be cut and the 2017 u21s started en masse and given three years to settle in.
