Limerick GAA - it's Box Office - Always Has Been, Always Will Be

The vast majority of those lads you mention won’t feature in this year’s Championship for Limerick. The reason they are there is they are young fellas, who the management obviously reckon have a bright future. At the same time, in general, I wouldn’t say they have lit the club Championship up any less than those they are replacing.

ALTC has been superb for Monaleen for a good few years now, he does a serious amount of scoring for them. I would say he outshines all those mentioned bar Tobin. Seamus Flanagan had a good year for Feohanagh too. Hedderman is a very consistent goalkeeper and you could definitely argue he’s one of the top few goalies in the Limerick club Championship.

But then again, there are players in the club Championship who light it up every week who I reckon just don’t have what it takes at senior intercounty level for various reasons. I’m just not sure about the correlation between club form & intercounty form generally.

The point is that our Championship season will not be decided by those 8 players that you named in for the 7 players. The 7 players that left would at very best be subs, I think. Those 8 that you mentioned will be doing well to even make the bench- 1 or 2 will maybe.

It’s the players who will fill the 26 that have really pushed out those players; maybe a few who have been around for a year or two but are now aiming to push for a starting position. The likes of English, Alan Dempsey, Malachy, Pat Ryan, WOD, Gillane, Morrissey.

Would make sense to do so alright.

The final is next week

It’s fixed for the 21st Joe. However, as @Watchyourtoes has said, if Clare and Limerick both win tomorrow it would only make sense to play next week’s game as the final as both counties will have a lot of players in Fitzgibbon Cup action the following week.

I see on Facebook that the hurlers played UL in a challenge match today

We might make ten more changes for the limerick game

No one gives a shit what ye are going to do. Fuck off to the Clare thread.

It will be limerick v cork bud

Beating Kerry 3-9 to 0-2, approaching half-time. Seamus Flanagan has got two goals, Barry Nash one.

Hannon went off injured, per twitter.

I’m in at it. Waste of time of a game really. A real winter hurling friendly

No bonfires tonight so?

Keep stockpiling for the final I’d say

Did Hannon’s injury look bad? A lot of these lads played UL in a challenge game yesterday, almost certain Hannon played, no surprise muscle injuries will be picked up at that rate

Hannon played the first half yesterday.

Ye’ll have some stockpile eventually.

All Kerry second half did Limerick empty the bench or just walk around second half @Julio_Geordio

Confirmed that next Sunday’s game between Limerick & Clare will double as the final.

Standard enough carry on so

Condon looks like he had a savage Christmas anyway

Nash was going well at centre forward, be great if he could make that his own. Flanagan very lively full forward, weird he never got a chance for the 21s really. 4 featured today who couldn’t make the 21s last year, as well as Murphy who was in and out.
The puckouts from Hennessy were shite and they were playing a short passing game which had no objective other than to short pass it.
Carved open Kerry at will in the first half and could have had a few more goals.
Kerry down a few older heads today but I think they are regressing big time from where they were.
