Limerick GAA - it's Box Office - Always Has Been, Always Will Be

A nothing game.

With the newly condensed season the days are numbered for pre season tournaments like this.

Impossible to read anything into it. Flanagan continued his decent early form with two goals and a terrific save from the keeper denied him a third. Barry Nash also did well at times but Kerry were extremely limited. Hannon was bossing the game before he went off.

Just as well that next week doubles up as the final. Otherwise between December 30th and the last game of the 1B league campaign against Galway on the first weekend of March weā€™d have had only one weekend off - Feb 11th. Now weā€™ve the weekend of January 21st off too. Think Waterford and Tipp had the right idea pulling out of this Munster league. Too many games too soon in the year.

If we persist with this tippy tappy style weā€™ll drive some supporters demented. Looks great when it comes off but horrific when itā€™s overdone and breaks down. Even today lads in the Mackey Stand were losing their heads when it went awry.

Other points of noteā€¦

I really like that white kit of ours.

The Waterford chap and Cummins must be on decent mileage with Kerry.

The Mackey Stand is the coldest place on Planet Earth.

Semus Flanagan was the stand out player of that u25 competition last year.

Where was Barry Oā€™Connell playing when he came on? @Julio_Geordio @dodgy_keeper

Has this not been a staple comment every spring since the first of the Expensive Corkmen took over? Usually by June weā€™ve well adapted the style to traditional Limerick hurling: Foostering at the back, an aimless solo from Hickey or McCarthy and then driving it high and long on top of the smallest forward we have. I wouldnā€™t be overly concerned.

The limerick way.

The game really petered out in the second half, the lads who came on after the break had a difficult task.

He was centre forward when he came on I think, half forward line anyway. Game lost all shape by that stage really.

Is Hayes injured or rested at the moment?

With the age profile of our squad the Mickey Mouse Fitzgibbon Cup will impact us more than other counties. Lads will be flogged over the next two months.

Exactly, we need to stick with the traditional limerick way that has served us so well up to now.

I canā€™t for the life of me see what the point was in playing UL yesterday. Most of them played again today

Another clueless decision by kiely.

Brudair is an excellent manager, Hurling or football

True, would always have seen himself as a hurling man before football!

What way did that game go anyway?

He was always a better footballer . A good sort and I think he will do well with @balbec

Kilmallock having to come West for their coaches in recent years must be a bitter pill to swallow for themā€¦

We had to go to Clare a few times. That was much worse.
