Fully agree,

That scoreline flattered Limerick completly.

The Templeglantine defence must have been at sea.

After all the dross at the weekend back to the Gaelic Grounds on Wednesday and real hurling where the U21ā€™s havenā€™t had their natural instinct to play hurling ā€˜coachedā€™ out of them yet.

Limerick are 1/6. Any updates on the team?

Team named tonight I think.

1/6 :see_no_evil:

Thereā€™s no way we should be that strong favourites. I expect us to win but Clare have some decent players.

Youā€™d imagine itā€™ll be a similar enough team to the last day, maybe Grimes in from the start.

Struggling to even remember the Tipp match but i thought we were poor down the LHS of our defense. ALTC should surely come into the reckoning at wing back. We also need better balance at mid field. Iā€™d stick Nash, Lynch and Hayes in the half forward line. Morrissey at 14 with Gillane and Casey

Edit Gillane

Dempsey is overage pal.

Their right wing forward did cause us problems and Iā€™d expect Grimes to replace Adams, simply because that was the switch they made last time.

Iā€™d swap Malachy and Cian Lynch too but I donā€™t think theyā€™ll do that.

Yep I was just editing it when your reply popped up. I meant Gillane.
Flanagan is also an option

I would never play Cian at midfield per say. He will never mark a player. We have serious options in the forwards with Boylan Murphy and Flanagan also good enough to start. If we sort out the defense we would be hard beat. I thought young Joy was Ok but A lad that played full back for the minors a few years ago McSweeney is a decent player and Iā€™d like to see him get a run. Iā€™d play ALTC at half back and try Grimes with Colin at mid field.

Clare are woeful this year. This group were terribly managed at minor and even worse again this year. Carmody got the job by default and they have been beaten in pretty much every challenge match they have played, including being beaten by offaly when they had their senior players available.

They might rise it enough to make a game of it but Limerick will win as comfortably as they want

Never ever underestimate our ability to fuck up kid. We are truly world class at it.

Thatā€™s nearly our starting forwards for the senior team. Impressive set of u21 forwards if they play to potential.

I still think swapping Ryan to wing back and Lynch to midfield would get more out of each of them.

I see Kk are now favourites for the AI . I assume down to the fact the have won their provincial final and play Antrim in semi final .

I am all over the place this morning. Iā€™d leave Hayes at centre back. Yep its a cracking set of players IF and its a big IF we could get a few of them to progress to senior it would be great.
Lynch is only a free role player. He wasnā€™t within 10yards of the Kilkenny midfieler Paddy Deegan he was supposed to be marking in the senior match when Deegan scored 3 points from play. On a dominant team maybe Cian looks great at midfield but when the chips are down and we are under pressure we need someone who can do a defensive job there as well.

Ryan to wing back and Ronan Lynch to midfield i mean. Youā€™d have a more physically dominant half back line and Ronan Lynch in a better position to drop back and provide support, and also to get on more ball to send good deliveries into the forwards.

Maybe but does Ronan have the pace for midfield? He was the only player in our half back line to deliver good ball to the forwards the last day. This wouldnā€™t be a bad move.

Clare will probably play Shanager full forward an lump it into him. Big test for Fanning.

I think youā€™d get away with Lynch at midfield, you donā€™t really have to mark someone. Have to put in a defensive shift but donā€™t have to follow one man around.

Not wing forward anyway, thatā€™s just pointless, he needs freedom.

I thought Joy did fine but Jack Oā€™Grady is the one Iā€™d go for.

He is not very fast but has plenty of running in him and is always in the right place at the right time, heā€™d do very well at midfield at this level IMO. It doesnā€™t sort out where he will end up long term though which is still an issue, but thereā€™s plenty of time for that to work out as Hannon shows.

Yeah but to my mind that is what U21 should be about. Also Hannon is being lauded as the answer at 6. He was free all night against Kilkenny. Yes he played well but I still am not convinced.
