Don’t know why. He missed even more mind you. He was making good runs and they were hitting good ball to him.

Begley is very good in the air and a good kicker. He is not good on diagonal or lateral runs for dinky passes. Josh is far better on those.

Next week is a massive game for limerick and this young side. We have chance to really lay down a marker next week. We missed an opportunity last year v kk down in Nolan park. We can’t afford to miss again.

I wouldn’t necessarily agree pal, in fairness.

Obviously would be nice to win or at least make them work for it but if beaten it won’t be the end of the world and the year written off already.

Most of our lads haven’t even won a big championship game of note yet, some of that Tipp team have two A-I’s and five or six Munster titles. Will be a good test and I’d like to think we’ll give a good account of ourselves whatever happens. The league has been good for us overall so I’m not going to have a knee jerk reaction to one particular match.

It’s a statement of intent. We won’t get a better opportunity to beat tipp this season. To beat both all Ireland finalists in the one season in their home ground would be huge. Backing up after good wins v Galway and Clare is very unlimerick like and would be another feather in this sides cap.

Hard to disagree with that really. Could be fatal last words but we’ve been pretty consistent this season so far in terms of work rate and creating chances. Tipp will put up a score so we can’t afford as many morale sapping wides. Only conceded one goal in the league so far too.

Looking forward to it I must say. Will learn a bit more about ourselves.

Tipp, kk and cork have won 70 percent of all Ireland’s between them. I think for the next three years this will be the weakest those three have been at the same time for a long long time. There’ll never be a better opportunity for limerick to win an all ireland in the next three years. We fucked up in 13 and in the 90s we can’t fuck it up again.

Jeez I don’t know. If we win, the hype machine will kick in for a final that is a bit early for us. I’d be happy with a good performance and a loss by a couple of points. But on the other hand, it’s Tipp and you should try and beat them anytime you can.

The hype machine is a problem for foolish fans and the 95 fm boys. This limerick side is made up of a core group of serial winners. They’ll judge themselves on success not on progression.
